Computer Education

In today’s world, the computer gets the pick of the bunch

Computer Science has been introduced into the school curriculum — taught as an additional compulsory subject, and offered as one of the optional subjects for the I.C.S.E. / C.B.S.E. Board Exams.

In today’s world, Information and Technology get the pick of the bunch. Man is out-fashioned without the knowledge of computers. Keeping in view the aim to give the best of modern technology to the children, the school has made computer education an integral part of every student’s learning from the earliest stage.

The Case

Why computer education, and why now

I

A necessity, not a luxury

In the technological era, computers are becoming a necessity rather than a luxury — as essential to daily life as reading and arithmetic.

II

The employment imperative

Every person seeking employment, whether in private or government sectors, inevitably finds themselves confronted with the need to be competent in computer technology.

III

Early exposure matters

Students must be exposed to the computer environment at an early age — at the primary learning stage, when their ability to grasp is at its highest.

IV

A foundation for careers

Exposure to computers at this stage of life will certainly help students in future — for a better career in the computer field, engineering, and beyond.

Our Policy

How computer education is delivered at St. Joseph’s

Introduced

Computer Science is part of the school curriculum from the primary level.

Compulsory

Taught as an additional compulsory subject for every student.

Optional

Offered as one of the optional subjects for I.C.S.E. / C.B.S.E. Board Exams.

This dual approach — compulsory exposure for every child, plus an optional board pathway for those who wish to pursue it — reflects the school’s belief that computer literacy is a foundation, not a specialization.
